The Government of the Argentine Republic seeks to improve the supply of meat at the national level in volume, price and quality so that all the inhabitants of the country have unrestricted access to this food. The demand for bovine meat has increased ostensibly in recent years, recovering ground lost in previous ones. Argentine livestock has meanwhile suffered a decrease in stock accompanied by the slaughter of females.
Unlike some provinces of the country, where cattle farming is a determining part of its history, the province of Santa Cruz has been characterized by a livestock with predominance of sheep. Within this context and under an integrating vision, the Ministry of Production of the province of Santa Cruz, has considered it a priority to orient its productive development policies in order to develop activities with economic potential and contribute at the same time to the objective of the country, of increasing the supply of bovine meat in the shortest time possible.
